Born and raised in Galveston, E. A. "Trey" Apffel III comes from a family with an extensive legal background. Trey has been helping individuals and their families recover from serious injuries across Galveston County for more than 35 years. He has served a term as President of the State Bar of Texas. In this role, he was elected by his peers to be the spokesperson for the legal profession in the state. He served honorably as Texas' 145th State Bar President.

Another distinction Trey holds is dual certification by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law. Only 2 percent of licensed attorneys in Texas have similar credentials.

Based in League City, Apffel Law Firm remains small by design. Trey and our staff offer a level of personal attention and service that large law firms simply cannot. Paralegal Terri Frnch is one of only a few paralegals across the state Board Certified in Personal Injury Law. She is the only one in Galveston County. Her experience and specialties are invaluable to the firm. Our practice focuses on auto accidents, personal injury, family law and commercial litigation matters.
