2 years after car accident, Friendswood man is suing

Being involved in a car accident is an awful experience. Injuries from a car collision could result in a physical recovery that takes weeks, months, or even years. In addition, injuries from a car accident may lead to financial hardship due to lost wages and medical expenses. Anyone who is injured in a serious car accident should seek to understand his or her legal rights regarding pursuit of just compensation.

On Dec. 5, 2010, a Friendswood man was in a car accident with a Santa Fe man. The accident occurred in Texas City. Two years later, on Dec. 5, 2012, the Friendswood man is suing the Santa Fe man for an unspecified sum. According to his petition, the Friendswood man was driving on Palmer Highway and in the process of making a legal left turn when the Santa Fe man failed to stop at a red light and collided with the car driven by the Friendswood man.

The Friendswood man suffered several injuries to his neck, back and legs as a result. The specific nature of the injuries isn't provided in the news reports on the suit, but spinal cord injuries are not uncommon in these types of accidents. The plaintiff blames the defendant for the accident, claiming that he failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to obey traffic signals, and failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

Anyone injured in a car collision due to a negligent driver may be entitled to receive compensation for medical expenses and pain and suffering. In the aftermath of a serious car accident, victims may be consumed with dealing with the physical recovery process as well as working through the emotional and financial tolls of the accident. Avenues of legal redress are often left unattended to. They should not be.
