Four Texas prison inmates die due to extreme heat

The Texas Civil Rights Project and a Texas lawyer have filed wrongful death suits on behalf of four prison inmates who died of heat stroke while incarcerated. All four men, who were serving time for nonviolent crimes, had known medical conditions that made heat a greater threat.

Texas woman puts and end to drunk driving lawsuit

A woman has ended a lawsuit for an accident allegedly caused by a drunk driver. The plaintiff in the case obtained an order from Galveston County 405th District Court Judge non-suiting the defendant. A non-suit is a voluntary action taken by a plaintiff that releases one or more defendants from liability.

Vehicle collision kills two Austin residents

A head-on collision recently claimed the life of two Austin, Texas residents in Coryell County. The collision involved a car driven by an unidentified driver, a passenger identified as 45-year-old old Connie Williams, and a one-ton pickup truck driven by a 79-year-old rancher identified as Hilton Lee Culp. The two occupants of the car perished while the truck driver is listed in fair condition at a hospital in Temple, Texas. An accident investigation is pending. However, a report revealed that the car was heading up a hill when it encountered the truck.
