FDA issues warning about dietary supplement

Texas residents should be aware that the FDA released a warning about Healthy Life Chemistry By Purity First B-50. Tests have shown that this may be a dangerous product because it contains steroids that are not listed on the ingredients panel on the bottle. Doctors are being asked to warn their patients to not use steroidal products and be on the lookout for signs of steroid use, which include liver and kidney damage.

Tests have shown that Healthy Life Chemistry contains the controlled steroid methasterone as well as dimethazine. Thus far, the FDA has received 29 reports of adverse reactions that include muscle cramping and muscle pain, fatigue, and abnormal lab results for liver and thyroid function. In addition, females using Healthy Life Chemistry have reported missed menstruation and unusual hair growth. Men using the product have reported impotence and low testosterone. There are additional long-term consequences of steroid use.

Mira Health Products, a company located in Farmington, NY, manufactures Heathy Life Chemistry. It's sold online and in various retail outlets. Thus far, the company hasn't issued a voluntary recall of the product or warned the public about the possibility of injury. It should be noted that failure to comply with the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act may lead to legal action, which can include criminal prosecution, seizure or injunction.

If an individual feels that a drug that they have used may have caused physical harm, it may be useful for the individual to inquire about legal action. A personal injury attorney may be able to negotiate a settlement that will cover any medical expenses and long-term treatment. It may also be possible to receive a settlement for pain and suffering.
