Several injured in collision on Texas highway

The Department of Public Safety recently reported a June 22 crash that happened on Texas 73. The two-vehicle accident injured six people, including one who was flown to Galveston's University of Texas Medical Branch and another who was helicoptered to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. The news source did not mention if any charges have been filed in connection with the incident.

Victim of Texas DWI crash remembered at vigil

A gathering in northeastern Austin on June 14 included friends and family members of an area resident who was killed in an accident on June 10. The 44-year-old man was driving a truck at the time of the incident and was wearing a seat belt when a 27-year-old man reportedly ran a red light as his car traveled east on East Parmer Lane. The truck was T-boned, and the man was ejected in spite of his seat belt; he died at the scene of the accident. A five-year-old boy, the son of the car driver, was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. An additional passenger suffered injuries but is reportedly recovering.

Pedestrian killed by pickup truck near Galveston seawall

Authorities in Texas have reported that one person was killed and another seriously injured on June 8 after a pickup truck lost control near the Galveston seawall. The two people were standing outside of a souvenir store on Seawall Boulevard when they were struck. The driver of the pickup truck also suffered minor injuries. The pedestrian accident occurred at about 7:00 a.m.

Two-car crash leaves one dead, one in jail

A 49-year-old woman in Texas was killed in a car crash near the Hobby Airport on May 25. The woman was driving north on I-45 at around 5:10 a.m. when her Ford Taurus was hit by a black Saab. The driver of the Saab had been heading north on the Gulf Freeway in another lane. Houston police have charged the driver of the Saab with intoxicated manslaughter.
