Auto-pedestrian accidents can inflict life-threatening harm

A young Texas boy is facing life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle. Auto-pedestrian accidents can inflict serious harm, as illustrated by potentially fatal injuries suffered by the boy in this hit-and-run accident. The boy is fighting through swelling of the brain and multiple broken bones. Family members have stated that his condition is still very fragile.

The accident occurred near Seven Mile Lane and Sunny Drive in Harris County. At this time, the family does not have much information about the accident, but they said that the driver sped off after hitting the boy. At the time of the hit-and-run accident, the boy was walking with a friend, who ran to get help after the boy was injured.

Other residents of the Texas neighborhood are shocked by the accident, but say that people often drive recklessly through the neighborhood. Auto collisions involving pedestrians are often related to negligence, such as distraction, texting, adjusting the radio and more. Drunk driving or speeding also places pedestrians at a higher risk for serious injury or death. Drivers always have a responsibility to drive safely around pedestrians and can be accountable when their actions cause undue harm.

After auto-pedestrian accidents, victims and families should seek the support and counsel of a knowledgeable personal injury attorney. It is possible to seek compensation after a pedestrian accident, but it is important to build a strong case based on evidence and documentation. A case evaluation is an optimal way by which a person can fully understand his or her legal options.
