A Texas man was sentenced to five years in prison for a drunk driving car accident that killed two women. A jury had previously convicted the man of manslaughter and aggravated assault. The accident that led to the charges occurred on Jan. 20, 2011 when the defendant collided with another vehicle at an intersection.

A 30-year-old Texas man is facing an intoxication manslaughter charge after being involved in a high-speed crash that left a woman dead in northwest Harris County on Sept. 22. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff's Office took the man into custody after toxicology testing performed at a Houston medical facility revealed that he had been intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Accident investigators in Texas are trying to determine what occurred in the moments leading up to a head-on collision between two semi-tractor trailers in Rockwall County that claimed the lives of three men on June 29. In Texas, a New Braunfels woman died after the car that she was driving was struck almost head on by a hit-and-run driver who was fleeing the scene of an unrelated crash on May 21. Both accidents were under investigation by local police, and criminal charges may be pending.
The driver of a charter bus lost control of the vehicle and caused an accident that left eight dead and more than 40 people injured. It took place on May 14 just south of the Webb/Dimmit county line on Highway 83, and the bus was headed to Eagle Valley from San Juan in Texas. Of those who died, seven died at the scene of the crash while one more person died while at the hospital.
